Black Sabbath

There is no doubt that Black Sabbath invented some of the evilest doomy blues around and is one of teen-age mans best highschool friends. Like most bands, certain songs have been cheese-balled to the point of nausea. You will have no problem finding a cover of paranoid or iron man, but here are two videos that show an interesting choice of songs off sabbath bloody sabbath. First is the title song which is an epic 7 minutes of 1992 highschool doom, fast paced camera angles, vhs camcorder effects and bad haircuts.

Second is a group of kids playing National Acrobat. I believe that this is at a camp that teaches kids to play music, but I have no problem deviating from the theme, I am in control here after all. Witchy shrunken versions of 70's rockers, with awkward female vocals. I can see them lurking over a copy of volume four holed up in their room, avoiding their homework already.

"California Uber Alles" is another pretty common act of talent show rebellion. Here the singer is channeling something while a 0 energy backing band combined with sideways cam cording. In a way it transcends california uber alles into something even more awesome. President brown won't be sending his secret police to this highschool.

PUS

Time to Time, I have a strange compulsion to seek the inner depths of you tube to find videos of people trying to play punk/hardcore/metal music at their high-school talent show. Not so surprisingly there are a lot of generic shitty blitzkrieg bop and metallica covers, first timer bands, and mid puberty awkwardness. What I am really looking for is people to do something fucking weird and edgey, like to call out how fucking lame their peers and teachers are, say to myself, "fuck yeah!" and fall asleep at 11 oclock. But I have yet to find it. This blog is dedicated to some true talent show gems.

Our first entry is a new jersey band called "pretty ugly scene", that claims new jersey hardcore is still alive in 85. Awesome authentic 80's high school slam dancing on stage followed by security guards in hot pursuit.
